The Fordite is from the Ford Detroit car plant in the 1960–70's also known as Detroit agate, it is formed from layers of hardened car paint. It originated from the overspray that accumulated in car factories. It shows vibrant metallic colours and is set with an array of treated coloured diamonds — these are natural diamonds that have been treated to permanently change their colour.
